Len had never imagined that he will be a dance teacher, until he became one. It was not that Len had a passion for dancing and hence he became what he is. He only took to dancing in order to recover from a foot injury which he sustained while playing football. It was then that his passion for dancing developed and it was such that he could never ever think of taking his foot back in the field.

He went ahead and took professional dance training. After completing his training he turned professional and took part in lot of dance competitions, which he ended up winning. He decided to take retirement from dancing after he won the British Championships at Blackpool in his late twenties. Goodman started a dance school in Dartford, where lots of young people use to come to learn dance.

Currently Len is the head judge on the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. While Len is on the sets of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, he is known for his cheeky sense of humor, and making comments at the contestants with double entendres. He is often shown as a man with short temper. ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’ is an extra version of the show, where too Len makes regular appearances. In the US version of the series, ‘Dancing with the Stars‘, again, Len, is the head judge of the show. The series is currently running into its eighth season. Besides this, Len also owns a dancing studio in Dartford, Kent, which is also his home town. Len still lives there.

Coming down to his personal life, Len’s first marriage was with his dance partner Cherry. But soon they decided to divorce each other. Len then married Lesley, with whom he also has a son. Len is currently married to his third wife, Sue.
